What is the "help center"?

Hello,

I have seen a presentation about NW 7.0 and there was a secondary help on the right side. It was called the help center. Could someone tell me more about it?

Hi Vanessa,

the Help Center you saw in the NW 7.01 presentation was not the CRM Help Center. It is a Web Dynpro ABAP application, shipped with the NW 7.01 platform.

Information on the Help Center will soon be avialable from the SDN wiki page "Business Suite - Foundation Topics". I'm afraid this information is not released yet.

Let me quote some information from the Help Center page:

The Help Center brings process-related knowledge to the users as they work with SAP applications - regardless of whether the applications run in a SAP system or in the portal. If the Help Center has been activated in the back-end system, it opens when users launch the application help; while the generic application help is reachable via a link in the Help Center. In the application's Help Center, process specialists can provide links to related files or Web pages as well as answers to frequently-asked questions. Furthermore, the Help Center offers an editor that allows each user to add personal notes on the application.

The Help Center is installed as a basic component of the SAP NetWeaver usage type Web AS ABAP. It can be optionally activated in the back-end system. The Help Center application shipped with Enhancement Package 1 of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 is suitable for use with applications in SAP Business Suite 2008. The Help Center is available in a first version for ERP applications.

Hi,

I am in middle of configuring help center. I put a file on the network folder /usr/sap/WAX/ppm For creating the link to the network folder ( managing help center centrally) i get the error ' cann't find file. make sure the path or internet address is correct. Could you pls tell me how to specify the 'correct path' for the network folder.

Hi

The Help Center contains help and support for users of SAP CRM. Users can access the Help Center from the interface using the corresponding link at the top right of the CRM WebClient UI. Specific information about a certain page is also accessible using a help symbol directly on the page in the CRM WebClient UI.
