Hi
We are having Windows 2003 R2 64 Bit and we are trying to install two ERP instances (dev & test) on the same machine. We chose central system scenario.
Should I leave default instance name or I must set name for each database instance? Do I need to run SQL4SAP.vbs twice (one time for each instance)?
When I try set name (=SID) i get "sap recommends to install default instance".
M.
Hi,
If you are trying to install two SAP instances on same SQL Server i recommend to keep two different databases. They might be in same instance which might be default instance. If you want to protected each instance seperately from your service pack application in future you can configure two different instances else one instance is sufficient. I suggest you to understand your future requirements and affordable downtimes and take decision.
Thanks,
Kiran.
