hi,
if i was define and configure the alerts using alrtcatdef t-code and activated the alerts.
then it will automatically trigger the alerts or any one initiate or trigger the alerts?

U need to define alerts ALRTCATDEF.
U need to create alert rule in Runtime workbench.

If you have defined the alert categories and Assigned the Alert Rules to the Interface.
Based on the Selection you make in Alert Rule configuration ( IE errors or AE Errors) it will automatically trigger alerts
No need of External Process.
Ex : if there is an Mapping Error Alert is triggered automatically
