NWSneakPreviewSP15 installation help please....

Hi there,

As you know, there are 4 parts in the installation of netweaver sneakpreview. I extracted all 4 of these 4 parts in 4 sub-directories, thinking that I will run the start.bat in these 4 parts one by one. I ran the first part and it installed the WAS and associated programs successfully. Now there is the SAP Management console where I can see my J2E system. But when I went to the second part, it is having exactly the same files as the first one and exactly the same size and it seems to be doing exactly the same thing by repeating the installation of WAS! Am I missing something here or did I do any mistake till now? Or because I have installed all the rar files into the same directory, did it automatically take the details of part 2 and 3 from there?

How do I check if portal has been installed successfully?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks a lot

From your SAP Management Console, under SAP Systems -> J2E if you see instances in green - You have successfully installed NWSneakPreviewSP15.

From your command prompt 'netstat -an' and see yourip:50000, server is up and running.

Check http://localhost:50000/irj and you see portal login screen.

Hi Venkat,

Thanks for the reply. The instance in sap management console shows green for the first one and yellow for the second. It shows under the yellow node that jcontrol has not started. The relavent part of the developer trace is as below. Could you help in finding out what the problem is?

It is trying to access a properties file in C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC02\SDM\program\config\sdm_jstartup.properties.

But I can see that there is no directory called SDM under JCO2. What could the reason be? Does it mean that my installation is not complete?

Thanks for the help, dev trace below..

I think the installation was not complet. My suggestion would be to uninstall completely and install as per this <a href="/people/umair.salam/blog/2006/01/26/installing-and-configuring-the-preview-edition-of-ep and this Document.

Especially, follow the file extraction steps mentioned in the weblog.

Hi Venkat,

Thanks for the reply. I am planning to uninstall and reinstall, but I have one basic question.

You know there are 4 parts in the download file. I have downloaded these into one directory. From here, using an unrar tool, I extract the NW04SneakPreviewSP15.part1.rar into this directory. Now when I try to unrar NW04SneakPreviewSP15.part2.rar to the same directory, it is asking me whether to replace the files already in there, because it is exactly the same! This appears very wierd to me because it looks like it is the same thing! Now, should I replace it with the part2 or not? I am really confused about it.Can anybody help please.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards

Choose "Yes to All". It will replace only Label.ASC and other meta files. Folder structure is the same, but it adds the remaining content to the same folder for installation to complete.
