JCO Connection pool is exhausted - max connections reached

Hi,

The EP underwent an upgrade from 6.0 to 7.0. Following which our application has been facing JCO related errors post upgrade.

Root cause being

com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (106) JCO_ERROR_RESOURCE: Connection pool WD_MODELDATA_XX_PROXY_XXXXXX_EN_useDefinedUser is exhausted. The current pool size limit (max connections) is 500 connections

Also observed in the backend were multiple sessions approx 400 for one call.

The application code to access the backend has not really changed post-upgrade.

Any ideas?
