SAP gateway - RFC server failed :sapgw00 not reached

Hi ALL

I am trying to connect BW to R/3 server but I am getting the RFC connection error:

Earlier its working fine. But our network team installed firewall after that I got this error

Error Details:

ERROR: Partner not reached ( host ip address , service s

LOCATION: SAP-Gateway on host hostname /sapgw00

DETAIL: Connect

Check that sapgw00 is maintaned in the services file on the target system.

But our network team installed firewall after that I got this error

You just need to make sure that the ports are open... sapgw00 port should be 3300

I verify the service file that Patch is: etc/services

But, how can I check the port is opened or closed

Its look like:

sapgw00 3300/tcp # SAP System Gateway Central Instance Port

pls give me the solution

You can use netstat at OS level to check if the port is open. Also highlight this to your Network team

Try to in start run cmd

telnet IP 3300

Try to disable firewall for testing, if it works without firewall , then your network team must help you to analyse situation ..Regards.

Hi,

Ask your fiewall team to check whether the traffic from BI server is able to reach R/3 server. Its definetly a port problem
