Can DP BOM work as location dependent???

Hi all,

We are working with product promotion in demand planning module and we are using DP-BOM functionality to acheive the same.

Requirement is promo is very specific to region i.e. some locations does have promo offer and some doesn't. This initiates us to create DP-BOM as location dependent which was assumed that could be done but it is not recognising location and just exploding product wise.

We have done the following steps:

1 Create PPM for product using plan D (BOM for Demand Planning (DP)).

2. Create activity, assign I/O indicator for both parent and child products and assign PPM to model.

3. Create MPOS with option of "Relevant for DP BOM".

4. CVCs were created for the parent across the locations.

5. Have done "Add BOM information" using tcode /SAPAPO/MC62.

Now BOM information has been uspdated in all CVCs i.e. bom is valid for all locations.

We wanted to add BOM information for the locations which are running on promotion.

Please clarify me the following questions.

1. Can we build DP BOM as location dependent?

2. If so, please let me know the procedure..

3. If not how we can configure this requirement in DP?

Hi Sanjog

By design the DP-BOM-functionality does not consider PPM-locations.

So you cannot create DP BOM for specific location.

So the behavior that you saw is normal behavior of DP BOM.

But your requirement might be realized by using BADI.
