Preconfigured Mining is called Best Practice IS Mining 1.6...

IS-Mining is an industry solution provided by SAP, in other words, new business processes and functionalities to support Mining industry. Think of it as a new SAP ERP flavor...

See below the functionalities available in IS Mining (High level).

Main features:

TSW - Traders and Schedule Workbench - Help the creation nominations. It is a tool to help you process the 3-way pegging "Demand vs Stock vs equipment(vehicles"".

RLM - Remote location management - Some tools to support MM PM to manage the location (mine) remotely (from the company's office);

In Logistics, you can use batch specific Unit of measure to monitor/control moisture. You can also apply some similar things for other contents (contaminants and other metals).

Commodity pricing and F&A (formula and average pricing) add to standard functionality some very nice and powerful tools to create very complex pricing schemas.

Bulk transportation

Hi,

I have closely associated with couple of Mining Industry implementation in Eastern parts of India (Asia).

The main issues are Logistics Movement with transit loss, commodity pricing, Connectivity at remote location and interface with weigh bridge..

In Mining Industry, we don't have fixed BOM. Therefore, PP and CO is very challenging and difficult to convince top management for variance analysis.

Bye and all the best,
