default_host error

Hello all,

In transaction SICF when i check my default_host with right click-->test...

I get the folowing error message:

" Could not find host or port information

Message no. SHTTP082

Diagnosis

The system could not find any host or port information.

Possible causes are:

The internet Communication is not active. Use transaction SMICM to check wether the ICM is active.

The Customizing settings for the host and port assignement are incorrect. Use transcations SMICM an RZ!! to check whether the system settings are correc.

ICM is started and the services HTTP,HTTPS and SMTP are active

The parameter profile

is/virt_host_0=:;

icm/host_name_full=mosssrv.domain.local

Hello,

I have the same problem, and everything seems to be Ok...

Did someone resolved this?

You can check SAP note 1292397 (newer than the thread you have "re-opened").

Hi all!

We have the same error with a virtual host. I have checked 1292397 but no success.

Any ideas?

hello again,

the default_host is not a service, it can not be executed. The important part is that you can

access the services furthest down in the hierarchy - what happens when you test them,

do they work ? I get the same error with default_host in our test system, but the normal

services work well.

The easiest service to test with is the Ping service. You can activate it at default_host > sap > bc > ping. You should test with this and not default_host.

Hello,

pls compare the URL which is generated from "test service" in SICF http://<hostname>:<port>/.

to the SMICM -> Services -> is the http port and the server name the same ?

Furthermore pls check if the tcip ip port is accessible via the networ from your client, f.e. if

the above http port is 50000

then try from your workstation / client the following command :

telnet <servername> httpport

if you get a blank screen the port is open. If you get an error, fix the error, the port might

be blocked by a firewall.

Hello Berbece,

If you're trying to activate the Integrated ITS then please make sure the itsp/enable profile parameter is set to 1. If you're just trying to enable the ICM then make sure you have profile parameter icm/server_port_0 with a value similar to PROT=HTTP, PORT=1081, PROCTIMEOUT=300, TIMEOUT=300

Hello

Both parameters are set in my system. the ICM is started and has no error in the trace file.

HTTP,HTTPS and SMTP services are active. In Sicf transaction i've activated the default host and the services. but i have some errors and i don't understand what causes them.

1. If i test the default_host with right click-->test i get the error from the thread

2. if i test services from the default host i get error messages with "service cannot be accesed" no handler defined

3. In transaction SMICM if i try to view the HTTP log i get the message "Unable to read HTTP acces protocol"
