Testing proxy in production

Hi,

If I test proxy in production enviornment through the 'test' tab in SPROXY, there is a chance that it would update the records in database tables (provided the function module in the method does an update of tables). Am I right?

We were thinking of testing it in production since the proxy processing threw an error in production enviornment.

How do we acheive this?

Nope, it will not send any data when u test the connection from Goto-->connection test tab in SPROXY tcode.

it will just check for the connection, and notifies errors if any.
