Does Universe Builder work with SSAS 2005 ?

Hi Christophe,

I confirm what's James said you need BOE XI 3.0 to access MSAS 2005.

BOE XIR2 only supports MSAS 2000 and BOE XI 3.1 supports in addition MSAS 2008.

However you have to use Designer to create OLAP universes and not Universe Builder.

Universe Builder is a universe generator (bridges) for CWM, Data Integrator, Oracle WB, Oracle OLAP, IBM DB2 CubeViews and IBM DB2 DWC.

Can we create any objects and pre-defined filters using Designer on MSAS 2005???

If yes, kindly let me know the ways to create....

Hi,

Yes you can create new objects (calculated measures) and pre-defined filters.

Calculated measures definition are written in MDX and pre-defined filters in XML.

Hi Christophe,

I'm not sure if you have already found an answer to your question but you can connect to SSAS 2005. However you need BOXI Release 3.0. In previous versions you are only able to connect to SSAS 2000.
