Hi all,
Is it possible to assign internal alphanumeric codes to SD documents ?
For instance,
For bills it will be : BI0001
For quotations : QU0001
Thank you.
Hi there,
Number ranges will be numeric values.
But alpha numeric ispossible through customizing. What you can do is that define the num ranges sothat system defaults the standard num ranges but with a prefix QT for quotation & BI for billing. The logic shoudl be put in the include that controls order MV45AFZZ & billing.
For eg: When you assign num range 01, billing docs will be 1000012. But with your customizing it will be saved as BI1000012. Similarly quotation will be QT500124.
Explain the requirement to the ABAPer. He will be able to help you.

Sivanand

With reference to Sivanand's reply, userexit being MV45AFZZ, abaper will be required to provide with logic for prefix as default. For example: if the Sales Order type is QT with number range object say 100001 onwards, on creating QT system will determine 100001, where as QT prefix will be derived from logic in user exit and / or possibly with the combination of logic and 'Z' table with desired combination. Similarly for Billing Type.
