Is there a way to control for Sales BOMs only to explode for certain sales document types?

Dear Tom

Yes it is possible.

Normally, for sales BOM, we maintain the item category group as ERLA / LUMF so that it will explode in sale order.

In VOV4, for only selected sale order type, maintain this item category group, and dont maintain for order types for which you dont want to explode, so that your requirement is fulfilled.

You can do that at item category level and not at document level.
