CJ30 Transaction - use of Edit > Total Up (F9)

I would like to know what is the use of "Total Up" (Edit > Total Up (F9)) in CJ30 Transaction.

Hi ,

TOTAL UP functionality adds up the values of child WBS element and shows it on the first WBS element. In laymans languange , it works as a calculator which adds the budget values at child WBS element and rolls up the total to the LEVEL1 WBS element.

If there is any supplement/return/change done to the original budget, then by doing total up , you can get the correct total figures anually as well as overall also.

It is always advisable to perform total up before copying the budget from one period to another , so that you can have correct figures.

Hi Dhruv,

If I click on enter or check button, will the total up functionality automatically done? Or what if I save the project immediately after changes (without clicking on total up), when I reopen the transaction, will I see correct figures?

if you enter you will et error that budget is 0 at top level

if you check the same will be displayed

basically without total up you will not be able to save
