suggestions required for data migration

Hi all,

I am doing a role out project. Where in some of the existing processes will be moved into new company code. So most of the configaration settings were copied. Now we have to transfer data from existing to the new configaration. We have huge no. of material master data. Lots of consignment stock is there. We have open sales order which will normally have a period of one year and huge in items nos. If you could give any suggestions which will help me in this regard will highly appriciated.

Dear Rajesh,

We already have developed programmes for data migration. As the data is huge what are the precations or checks that has to be done before and after data migration from SD point of view, just to prevent the any unforeseen situation.

Ensure that there are no duplicates.

Ensure that your program works perfectly by using some sample data and testing it out.

Enaure that yor organisational data is in place in customising.

Ensure that the number ranges are in place. This is done manually normally. Also check whether there is any change from existing, internal or external.
