VA01 - update termination error

Former Member

Hello,

We made certain printer setting changes in transaction SPAD and now we are facing this problem. Once we create sales order via VA01, the sales order number is generated but not commited in the database. We get 'update termination error'. This happens when the 'Output type' is maintained for that customer (In VA01, enter customer, and then go to EXTRAS-> OUTPUT -> HEADER -> EDIT). If we remove the same, the sales order gets saved and committed to the SAP database.

Kindly help.

Regards,

Srinivas.

Use transaction SM13 - (choose Status = Terminated and User = *)

Once you find a list of update terminates, highlight the row and choose 'Update Modules' pushbutton.

You will get another screen that has pushbutton called 'Update administration'.

In this screen you will see duplicate entries of certain sap internal tables which triggered the error.

Please note down the error and try to trouble shoot the root cause.

Hi,

Check if any header text is mandatory and not maintained which You are expecting on Print output of Sales order.

In that case You need to make changes in smartform.

Hi there,

There might be some ABAP coding error. Could be that the tables or work areas are wrongly called. Only in that cases you get the dump errors. May be the data base tables were not properly defined.

Explain the ABAPer about the error. He would be able to understand the error & solve it.
