Steps for Restoration using brrestore on different host

Dear All,

We have requirement of System Refresh from PRD to QTY

system using BR Restore from N/w Drive. We have taken offline backup from PRD and need to restore into QTY system using Brrestore. My doubt when we took backup from PRD, it was taken the data files from PRD files system (/oracle/PRD/sapdata1)

But i dont know exact procedure for restoration on diff host(target system).

Can you please share your knowledge with me.

if you used BRBACKUP to back this up, it will restore in the new QTY folders.

Hi,

In restoration BRRESTORE automatically restores entire PRD files in QTY file system....Only you need to change the SID in controlfile.....After restoration just take a backup controlfile from your PRD and just edit it....and run that.....then your database will be open....after may be you know the entire process....
