if you want to use XI as a devleoper it's not the system relase that's important

it's the java version only

Hi Michal,

How come it depends on the version of java...As java is platform independent and gets installed on any OperatingSystem.

I came to know that XI works on Windows Server OperatingSystem. So i want to know in which version of Vista can it be installed.

hi,

as I mentioned it's not java but java version and XI has to be installed with a specific java version

if you want to install XI server (not only dev tools) then vista is not the right OS as you came to know

XI 3.0 and 7.0 were released only for

WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA32 32BIT

WINDOWS SERVER 2003/IA64 64BIT

WINDOWS SERVER 2003/X64 64BIT

and PI 7.1 for:

WINDOWS SERVER 2003/X64 64BIT

so you may be able to install it on vista but you may have many problems later on

I wouldn't suggest doing that

does that answer your question?
