Posting period problem

Hello,

while doing PGI in today's date (01/11/2008), iam getting the error that posting only possible in 09/2009 and 10/2009.

i went to MMPV and select check and close periods by putting 10/2009,09/2009,08/2009,07/2009................09/2008 in the reverse order in the yr and period cloumn.

but still while doing PGI iam getting error that posting possible in 09/2009 and 10/2009.

on seeing the material master for one in accouting tab, it shows current period as 10/2009

what to do ??

what steps shud i do to do PGI ?? iam doign atest case i unit test client...

Dear Sonu,

This can be a problem of Fiscal year.

Check the fiscal year in your company code, try with K4 or V3.

Check this & update.

Dear Sonu,

Use T-Code MMRV to check which period are currently open.

In you case it seems someone has open January 2009 (or 2010) by mistake & please take such mistake is not repeated in future.

Now to open closed MM Period (which is current period) follow this:

T-Code: MMPI - from Tool Bar select - System - User Profile - Own Data - In parameter Tab Enter "MMPI_READ_NOTE" in parameter Field

Then, Remove assignment of Plants from Company Code (In SPRO).

Now use T-Code OMSY & Set the required Period (08 - 2008 for November 2008).

Re-assign Plants to Company Code & Check whether correct period is open thru T-Code - MMRV

Now use T-code - OMWD to Assign Valuation grouping code to Valuation area because the earlier data gets deleted when assignment of Plants was removed.

Use t.codes MMPV and MMRV .Check your company code that in which month it is there then close the month using the above t.codes , you can check in which month your company code is there , then you close for the month.

Once you close for the month then you do delivery again

But this is the duty of the MM consultants .

hello, friend.

please check with your FI is backposting has been disallowed (using mmrv). in which case, you need clearance from FI to post to the past.

also look at the date of MMR's creation. it is possible that you are attempting to post at a time before MMR was created.
