yes you can, if you do not plan on restoring these backups.

Sunil Bujade's answer is the best, you should schedule regular deletion of old backup logs using DB13 job named CleanUp.

Thanks Sunil,

When i scheduling Redolog Backup via DB13

Following Option comes in Function

-s Create the first copy of offline redo log files

-sd Create the first copy and delete

-ss Create the first and the second copy in parallel

-ssd Create the first, second copy in parallel and delete

-sc Create the second copy of offline redo log files

-scd Create the second copy and delete

-cs Create the second and the first copy serial

-cds Create the second copy, delete and the first copy serial

-ds Delete the offline redo log files after the first copy

-dc Delete the offline redo log files after the second copy

Witch should be we selected. Right now I am selecting -s

Thanks

regarding safety, security and manageabilty option

> scd

would be optimal as a second copy of the logfiles will be made before they will be deleted.

I prefer using -cds

this way, you get 2 copies of your archive logs on 2 different tapes.

How 2 Copies of Archive is copied.

If I schedule Redolog backup at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM then 13:00 AM. in Differenet -2 Tape.

I am tackting Redolog backup in every 2 Hours,

When I Take backup at 13:00 AM inTape No. 3 , -cds mean that in tape No 3 take redolog backup also of 11:00 AM.

Thanks

-cds option mean you will have two copies of you archive logs then it will be deleted from OS level. if one copy lost/corrupted then you can retrieve from second copy.

Here's an example of how it could look like:

9am: redologs 1-2-3

11am: redologs 1-2-3 and 4-5 (and delete 1-2-3)

1pm : redolog 4-5 and 6-7-8-9 (and delete 4-5)

3pm:: redologs 6-7-8-9 and 10-11 (and delete 6-7-8-9)
