Cannot connect to NWA at http://<server>/nwa

Hello,

I'm new with SAP software. We're trying to install the NetWeaver 2004S SR2 (with PI component) on Windows 2003 32-bit with MS SQL Server 2005. We managed to install successfully SAP System using the SAP Solution Manager Installation. Following the Installation Guilde "SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 ABAP+Java on Windows: MS SQL Server" (I know the version of NW is different, but this is what SAP Consultant advised to use), we get to the post-installation steps (exactly 5.18 Running the Configuration Wizard) where configuration of PI component should happen and it says:

Open the URL http://<host>:<httpport>/nwa in a browser, and logon to the SAP NetWeaver Administrator with the user Administrator.

However, when I type this in browser http://server_name/nwa browser just tells that the page is not found. So I have the following questions:

1. There should be some SAP Webserver running to handle HTTP requests and render NWA, how can I check that server is running or troubleshoot in case it is not?

2. I'm not sure which port should I use, please advise (this might be the issue)?

Thanks in advance,

Maxim.

hi

usually the port is calculates as 5<system number>00, so if you gave the system number as 00 while insallation your port would be

50000

also i doubt if there would be a user called as "Administrator" for an ABAPJAVA system, user "administrator" is usually created for an JAVA only system, for an abapjava system use user 'j2ee_admin" with whateever initial passwd you would have defined while installation

thx
