hi,
1 in SD, what is the function for account assignment and item category? are they same as MM?
2 in MM, account assignment is to define which gl account to use instead of account in obyc. what about SD?
thanks
Hi,
These are very general questions.
Basically item category is one of the main config. objects in SD. Behind you setup the process and functionality (eg. if it is a service item or 'normal' one, incompletion procedures, pricing, texts, copy control, picking relevance and much more...).
For account assignment - the main transaction to assign G/L account is VKOA.
There you can find two different acc.assignment group fields - for customer and material (both defined in masterdata). Apart of this you have also other keys, such as sales organization, which identifies the correct G/L account.
So basically the idea is similar but setup in SD is different.

hi,
NO, it differs from the MM Function.
1. In SD there is no Account assinment, but GL acount is Dteremined based on the factors i explained earlier.
2. Item Catagory is used to define the function of material (like whether pricing is required or not,and to find schedule line category)
