Hi,
Thanks for your time.
I am trying to get a JDI environment up and running with SLD,DTR,CBS,NWDS and CMS. However I can't get the CMS to work. I get the following error when I try to connect to the CMS GUI:
An error has occurred:
"Failed to process the request."
Please contact your system administrator.
What I have tried is to connect to the http://localhost:50000/devinf/main
and then click on the CMS link. This is what leads to the above error. Do I need to set up the CMS in the SLD or something similar?
Have found lots of documentation, but none that explained the CMS setup in detail...
I am running a WAS6.40 SP11
Thanks for your help.
The best regards
Kris
Dear Kris,
Here is the guide that gives the complete procedure for installing as well as using CMS for XI transport.
- Go to http://service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides
- Select Exchange Infrastructure.
- There is a list of documents.
- Go to document "How To Transport XI Content Using CMS".
- For faster search, go to Edit menu -> Find -> search for a term "CMS"
- Locate the above document.
I recommend to upgrade SP level to latest one if necessary, because the guide is for SP13.
Also, refer to the relevant SAP Notes or other documents mentioned in this guide.
It is crucial that for using CMS, all the components - JDI, WAS(J2EE) etc. must be at same patch level !!!
Pls. follow the entire installation procedure very carefully, because it is seen that many of the errors (similar to one that you got) have their roots in improper installation / configuration of software. Even a minor step of checking a checkbox - if ignored - can cause problems later.
Regards,
- Shankar.

Thanks for your help!
I am getting my JDI to the SP15 so that I am sure everything is on the same PL.
In case the new SP dosn't fix my troubles I will make a new clean installation by the book.
Best regards
Kris

Hi Kris, what is the documentation that you used? There is a relatively good HowtoGuide as well as the following notes:
780297
705541
743542
764393
The guides can be found under http://service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides -->How to Transport XI Content Using CMS
and perhaps even better http://service.sap.com/nw04installation ---> configuration guide xi, chapter 5.
I think you didnt carry out the installation well.
Best regards, Jaime

Hi,
further hints that fall to my mind regarding this error:
probably some parts were not correctly deployed. Try again to do the deploy in SDM but make sure that the relevant component must be deployed. By the first step choose the option " update deployed SDAs/SCAs that have any version. " Make sure that the JDI components SP match the J2EE SP!!
Hope it helps,
regards, Jaime Farinos
