SD- Product Allocation for Stock Transfer Order Requirements

We want stock transfer orders from other plants go through product allocation just like the sales orders. Currenly only sales orders go through product allocation checks and STOs get whatever they order.

Is this functionality supported by SAP? If not what are the possible alternatives?
