STMS transport log not displaying

Former Member

Hi,

I have a 3 system landscape. In the Import queue of production after import i need to check the log.

When ever i check it, it specifies no log entries found.

it actually reads from the location

sapmnt\trans\log\PRD\DEEI111111.PRD

instead of

sapmnt\trans\log\DEEI915284.PRD

The \PRD is additionally created.

how to change and specify the path?

regards,

siddhartha.

Hi Siddhartha,

check if the tp parameter TRANSDIR set correctly on the system or not.

you can check by going to the import queue, goto > tp parameters.

the log it reads you mentioned.. DEEI111111.PRD

is DEE a system part of landscape..?

Hi debasis,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes DEE is part of my landscape.

The Parameter TRANSDIR is set correct,

Reading the log is a problem else the transport is working fine.

Thanks.

Siddhartha.

Hi Siddhartha,

Is your PRD system in a different transport group? I hope you're aware, when transport between two transport groups are done, the log is not copied from source to target transport directory.

Hi Debasis,

It is in the same landscape.

DEE->QAS->PRD is the transport route.

There are no intermediate systems.

What you mean by different group?

Hi,

In a single landscape, you may have different transport groups. Systems which share transport directory is called a transport group. so in your case check if PRD has its own transport directory or not.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/c4/6045377b52253de10000009b38f889/frameset.htm

for checking if your landscape has more than one transport groups,

1. Call Transaction STMS.

2. Choose Overview > System

3. Choose Goto > Transport groups.

Do you see all the 3 systems in one group or more than one groups are present here..?

Hello,

Please check the parameter SID_LOG_FILES in the transport profile.

It should be set to FALSE.

Hi sathish,

Thanks for the reply.

It is set as O only.

The problem is in import queue of Production and not quality.

Hi,

0 (zero) is false and thats the value been set in quality server. The log is displayed.

The same value set in production server , yet the log is not disturbed.

Kindly revert.

Hi there,

Hope your issue has been resolved.

We had similar issue. It was fixed by adding the parameter SID_LOG_FILES = TRUE to the system that has the log files written in a system specific folder. Once that parameter is set, you should see SID_LOG_FILES listed as 1 in the tp_parameter.

For background info on this parameter, refer to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/3d/ad5bcf4ebc11d182bf0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
