What is ABAP Dump?What is the useful it to sd consultant?

Anyone can give post the answer.It help a lot to me

Hi there,

In the prog code, if the fields donot match or if field is used without defining them, system will abort the prog processing. It is called dump. In short system will stop processing the prog / report. It will display the error details as to why the issue has occured.

As a consultant it is important for us to check if we have given the correct fields & correct details in the functional specs.

Hi Karunakar,

ABAP/Short dump normally generates while running the transaction code & shows exactly where the bug is in the code/program in the form of text.

We can find out the bug in the dump & directly rectify the issue.
