Error in importing qualified field values

Former Member

Hi,

I have a query related to importing qualified tables. At the source side, the main fields and qualified table fields are given in 2 different sheets of Excel, joined by the product ID. While importing the qualified tables, I am only able to import non qualified field values in data manager and rests of the qualified field values are not getting imported. Following are the steps I have followed:

 Map Non Qualified fields (Source: Qualified table; Destination: Qualified table)

 Import Non Qualified fields

 Map Non Qualified fields (Source: Qualified table; Destination: Main Table)

 Create compound key and map with the destination field.

 Map qualified fields (Source: Qualified table; Destination: Main table)

o Match records and Import. (No fields are coming up in the Match records pane (Error))

Pls let me know the solution to rectify the error.

Hi Vishal,

In addition to the above inputs, one of the non qualifiers should be a display field.

Hi Vishal,

You cannot have your Qualified table (Non -qualifier and Qualifier)details in a separate excel sheet and the Main table fields in a separate sheet. As the Qualifiers are part of the main record only and besides whenever you import data in the qualified tabel itself by selecting the qualified table as the destination table ,you will be able to map only the non-qulaifiers as the Qualifiers are only visible under the main table destination.

So you can create your source in two ways

- All the non-qualifiers of the qualified table in a separate excel and all the main table fields along with the Qualifiers in a separate sheet.

- All the fields in a single sheet ,as you can select the same source when you want to import the qualified table as well as the main table.

You can import the Qualified tabel records either before or after the main table importing as mentioned in the above post.

kindly follow the below link to understand qualified table importing:

- When you are importing data (non qualifiers) in the qualified table you can select any one or combination of the non qualifiers as the matching fields

- When you are importing the main table you need to map the qualifiers as well as the main table fields. You need to select the primary key field of the main table as the matching field.

- The link is established between the qualifiers and the non qualifiers in the main table mapping.

- You will able to see the same in the qualified tab in data manager

Hope it helped

Thanks Simona,

But in the realistic scenario it is very to difficult get the source file in this manner. Do you recommend that we need to change the source file on our own (Which is quite a tough exercise considering the large amount of data and complex data modeling). Can there be any other alternative?

"In the present case, the fields in qualified table are associated with main table fields by a common product ID"

Hi Vishal,

If i have understood your problem correctly, you have two excel source files in one there are the qualified tabel values(both qualifiers and non qualifiers) and teh other excel sheet containing the main table fields.

When you are selecting the qualified excel as your source and the qualified table as the destination you are not able to map the qualifiers as they are not visible.

The qualifiers will never be visible under the qualified tabel ,it will be visible only under the main table in the destination,in other words your complete qualified table qualifiers fields have to be under the main source to map to the detination qualified fields.

So i suggested to have all your fields under the main table so that you can use the same source to map the Non qualifiers as required to import in the qualified table and the same source can be used to import the qualifeirs when mapping them with the main table fields.

If this is not possible ,then you can just add the Primary Field say for eg(material number ) which is used to link the main table records with the qualified rec in the qualified excel source.

- so now you can use the Qualified excel source to map and import the non qualified records.

- use the same qualifed excel to map and import the Primary key and the qualifier records in the qualified tabel and establishing the link by slecting the source as qualified excel and destination as main tabel

- use the main table source and map and import the other main table fields by using the main source and the main table as the destination.

So this will import the non qualifiers , the qualifeirs ,establish the link and also import the main table records.

Hope It Helped

Thanks & Regards

Hi Vishal,

Qualifier values are not stored in any table rather they are linked with main table records. Qualified details cannot be stored without main table records. So first you need to main table records first and then update them by adding qualified details or you can simultaneously add both main table and qualifed table records.

Your Destination table will be the main table itself.

If you want to import only Non-Qualifier data then you need to select Destination table as Qualified table.
