UOM group

Hi,

Can any one please let me know, how the field UOM group in the IS:Oil view of the material master can be changed with some stock being posted and open orders being present on the material.

Hi Chaitanya,

you can do this by defining the Additional unit of measure which the system stores quantities with the conversion group.

Neverthless, you can use the " Dynamic Quatity Conversion". function during sales delivery cycle ie while performing delivery, you can find as tab called "Quantity Alternative UOM " Where you can change the quantity for a particular material based on parameters such as material temperature, final temperature, density etc.

Hi,

You cannot change the UOM group once the stock is posted.SAP has designed this way to avoid any incosistencies in Stock level for different UOMs.

Approach:

1.) Archive the material if you can and create a new material master with the new UOM group.

2.) Else, reverse all the material document. Bring the stock level to Zero for all plants.

These are two ways you could do.

You may also need to delete the sales document or purchasing document created with this material with the wrong UoM before able to change the base UoM.
