Error in phase EXTRACTKRN_PRE while Upgrading NW2004s JAVA

Hello together,

I want to upgrade my NW04s Java (standalone) Stack SP09 to a higher version.

Within the PREPARE phase I get the following error

1 ETQ201XEntering upgrade-phase "EXTRACTKRN_PRE" ("20081029102732")

2 ETQ367 Connect variables are set for standard instance access

4 ETQ399 System-nr = '00', GwService = ''

4 ETQ399 Environment variables:

4 ETQ399 =<null>

4 ETQ399 auth_shadow_upgrade=0

1EETQ204 Upgrade phase "EXTRACTKRN_PRE" aborted with severe errors ("20081029102740")

All upgrading DVD's (Kernel, Upgrade Master etc.) are downloaded one day before I start the upgrade. --> So I have the newest version!!

Why there is a problem extracting the kernel to the upgrade directory. Are there any solutions or workarounds??

are you using upgrade master CDs to upgrade your kernel on same release from SP09 to higher SP? mean you are not upgrading your applications.

you must use JSPM,

Hello Sunil,

thanks for your answer. I'm using a "NW_7.0_SR3_ Upgrade Master DVD" to upgrade my system.

For updating I'm using the "Upgrade Assistant 3.0" which I have startet from the upgrade directory

with

java -cp E:\Upgrade\ua\ua.jar UaServer

And within this programm (PREPARE phase) I got this failure

Do you mean you want to upgrade NW04s stack SP09 to SP SP17 ?

YES!!!!!!!! You're right.

Are there any problems or is this a failure on my site.

mean you are not performing any application upgrade.

you have to use JSPM to upgrade your SP 17. follow the JSPM link which i have given before.
