Hello,
We are facing a very slow response time when printing out from SAP. Can anyone suggest something.
Thanks in advance
BB
Hi,
Check the connection between SAP and the host spool system. This can be done by double clicking on any printer from SPAD and then clicking on the check connection button. If the message displays u201CRemote host spool system availableu201D this means the connection between SAP and the host spool system is okay. If not either the destination host is not mentioned correctly or there is some network problem between SAP and the host spool system.
Bes of Luck,
Gaurav

Hi,
On giving test print from SAP, at first it shows status "Sent to LPD", remains in this status for a minute then status changes to "Output device unavailable". On checking with our network team they said that they can see an initial handshake between SAP and the spool server but not receiving any data packets. After 1 min again the status in SAP changes to "Sent to LPD" and handshake from network side can be seen.
Please help,
BB
Hi,
After around 2 to 3 try (automatically by SAP, it tries this for 5 times and if no response then gives up) the request is finally getting sent to the host spooler and getting printed on the printer successfully.
Print request sent from SAP -
>host spool server (running on Windows) SAPLPD------> OS spooler -
>physical printer
Thanks,
BB

Hi,
Checking in to SM21 it says "Connection to SAPLPD broken".
On drilling down further, the log writes "When reading data of
the SAPLPD, this no longer answered. The network is possibly
disturbed or the partner computer had problems. Transmission
is started again after sometime. If this error occurs more
frequently the network administrator should be informed."
