MII 12.0 Install Problem / Resolution

I wanted to share a tip regarding installing 12.0 and NW 7.0:

In our recent efforts to install MII 12.0 and NW 7.00 in a Windows 2003 environment, we ran into problems clearing the Java Support Pack Manager (JSPM) buffer. We found and read OSS note 1231975 which described our problem but didn't appear to contain a solution.

With some assistance from Vesta Partners, our consulting partner, we were able to determine the problem was related to the fact that we were attempting to install Java version 1.4.2_18. The solution to the problem was to instead install the _17 version.

A special version of Java is available as per OSS Note 941595 and is available from the following site:

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/SAPsite/download.html
