Windows XP - SAPGui 7.10.5 - Registry

Hello,

recently we discovered the following during the installation of a SAPGui 7.10.5 on our Windows XP computers with Internet Explorer 7 :

As the installation of SAPGui 7.10.5 takes places, the setting "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{EAB22AC0-30C1-11CF-A7EB-0000C05BAE0B}\1.1\0\win32\" is changed from its original value "ieframe.dll" to "shdocvw.dll". This last one seems to be a value dating from IE6.

Some problems were encountered with Internet Explorer 7 after this specific installation of SAPGui, to be more specific related to this topic that is in the same region :

A clean install of a Windows XP computer with IE7 confirms the correct value.

The following patches have already been patched with the sources, but the problem persists : gui710_9-10002995.exe & bi710sp07_700-10004472.exe

Can somebody give us some more information about this ?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Mr. Blavier,

based on the wild guess that the problem might have been caused by the BI component it might make sense to test the latest BI patch 800 that has been released today. Also, it might make sense not only to test whether this patch solves the problem on already affected clients but to also test whether it makes a difference for new installations. If the patch doesn't solve the problem then I recommend creating a support message because I don't think SDN is the right place for the analysis of this problem.

Best regards,
