Development server/Production Server

Hi Every One,

If I am working in Development server and make changes there in existing Documents or create new ones, then please explain in details(step wise), how do I transfer these new changes in Production server and implement these changes there.

Hi there,

When you make any configuration changes in DEV server, it will throw a message asking for transport request TR num.

You will have to assign it to an existing TR num or enter a new TR num.

To select the existing num, select the option "own request". System will pop up a selection box of existing TRs in DEV server. Select 1 amoung them.

To use a new TR press "new request". System will throw a pop where you will enter the description of the TR (like proj name, TR description etc). It will automatically geenrate a TR.

Depending on how you company rules are, you either need to send the TR list to the BASIS team to release them into QAS or you have to do it yourself. If you have to do it yourself, then here is how you do it.

Then in SE09 / SE10, you will have to release the TR into the QAS server. For this, in SE09 / SE10, select the "modifiable" field. You will come up with a list of TRs that are to be tranported into QAS.

Pls note that we need to release the lower level task to release the main TR. Just beside the TR, there is a + sign. Press that. There will be a lower level task num. Select that & press Release (truck) button. Then you need to relase the main TR in the same way. This will release the TR into the import queue in QAS server.

Go to STMS in QAS server & select the QAS server name from the list. It will display the TR list in the import queue. Select the requred TR of your development & press on "import request" (truck with half orange color). If you press truck with full orange color, it will import all the TR in the import queue.

Once the TR is imported into QAS it will have a green box signal next to it. This menas that the changes are moved into QAS. You can test in QAS.

Transport from QAS to PROD is not done by consultants. During the move to prodiction, you will have to give a list of TRs to the BASIS team. They would do it.

Any changes whether it is config related or programme changes related it is trasported through Development request and moved by basis team. The path is like DV -- QA -- PD server. Once it is tested in DV server we can request to move to QA and then PD.

Hello,

what ever the config changes you are making will be stored under transport Requests. These can be trnansported to the another server based on the transport path set by the BASIS team.

Normally the config should move th Test server, once it is tested properly, then it will be moved to Production by the BASIS team.
