how to transport a webdynpro projekt from one DTR to another?

Hello,

we need to transfer a webdynpro project from one DTR to another.

We are developing on a "shared" DTR server and this server will be shut down in a few days. Now we installed a DTR/CBS/CMS on our own server and I would like to transfer the content from the old server to the new server.

Our problems are:

• we don’t have an administrator user on the old DTR!

• the Transport Studio on the old server is some kind of broken and we can’t assemble SCA files of our project (we have got only the builded .ear files from the developer-studio).

Is there a guide how to “import” .ear files of a webdynpro project into an empty DTR or is there an other solution for us?

Hi Tino,

a couple of things you can do:

1) You can create a new DC on the new DTR and then just copy the old WD DCs content over to the new DC. This is the easiest thing to do but you will lose the version data of your application...but if that isn't important to you I would suggest this approach. Just copy over the src/packages folder...not the generated folders...

2) You can connect to the DTR with the DTR client tool, and export the content...here is a link to the help on this tool: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6a/50d93f130f9215e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

Take a look at the export and import commands for this tool.
