Hello,

we want to install a new RAC on Windows Servers.

Now we've many questions:

- Oracle support RAC on Windows 2008. But is SAP and RAC on Windows 2008 supported from SAP and Oracle?

We've searched SAP Notes but we have not found a answer.

Best Regards

Thomas Rudolph

To get an answer for these type of questions you have to check the product availability matrix: service.sap.com/pam

You will see there, that SAP support for win 2008 server is planned for 2009, regardless of RAC or single instance. So the answer to your question is: NO (not yet)

I've checked the PAM. The contains no information for Netweaver 7.0, Windows Server 2008 and Oracle.

Well in the ppt file i can clearly see on slide 2 that NW 7.0 on Win 2008 server on platform x86 and Oracle 10.2 is planned for 2009. There is an additional sidenote: "Availability depending on release of JDK 1.4.2 from Sun"

Regards Michael

Windows Server 2008 on X86 (e.g. 32 Bit) will not be supported at all.

only the 64 Bit version of th OS are going to be supported.
