Dear,

You can delete a material or Marked for deletion.

You can flag material for deletion using transaction MM06.

or

If you created an material by error and you want to delete that material from the data base you can do it in this simple 4 steps. The only condition is that this material has to have no material movement recorded.

These are the steps:1

1) Flag material for deletion. transaction MM06

2) Run report MMREO001 - Selection of materials flagged for deletion and select the material

3) Run report MMREO050 Archive Materials to archive the material (some customisig settings might be required)

4) Run report MMREO110 Deletion Program for Archiving Materials to delete the material from the database.

These reports are called by the SARA transaction too.

HI Syed,

Thx for replyin.

1. how to find changes made in material or who deleted material

2. can we set deletion flag for a material in stock & for which sales order/delivery etc is already done

Changes to a material can be found in MM04 or in MM03 via menu Environment > Changes

You can flag any material for deletion, even it has stock or open purchase orders.

The deletion flag is just a flag.

The physical deletion is done with archiving, and archiving does the logical checks. If stock is there then it will not archive an material that has an deletion indicator.

To restrict working with materials that have a deletion flag, you should use material and sales status.

material status and sales status (DChain status ) are statuses that can be customized to restrict certain usage. It can be cusomized to issue warning or errors.

IMG > Logistics General > Material Master > Settings For Key Fields > Define Material Statuses. short OMS4

The sales status can be defined in IMG > Logistics general > material master > setting for central fields > sales relevant data > define sales status..

The easiest way to find the info at which level a material is maintained, is by looking into table MSTA

1) other than this status in basic data 1 and purchsing , and sales org 1, we can set indicatior in MM02 Plant inventory view so as material is

" that the stock is blocked for a physical inventory"

2) No, Mterial code is only able to maintained for PLANT , STORAGE LOCATION and VALUATION type,,,,,

as valuation type is belongs to material type hence one can only able to creat a meatril to palnt specific.

the material status can be set at general level and plant level,

sales status can be set at general level and sales org/distr ch. level.

The field plant sepecific material status is just the same through the various plant views (such as purchasing, storage location, MRP, calculation)

There is no company code specifc view. plant is linked to company code in customizing. So SAP always knows the company if you maintain plant views.

Hi,

You can delete the material in following ways -

1. To delete material permanently - Use T-code MM06

2. To delete material at plant level -

Go to MM02 --- In purchasing view, chose Plant-sp.matl status as 01.

3. To delete material at client level -

Go to MM02 -- In Basic Data 1 view, chose X-plant matl status as 01.

Hope this will help.

not usefull, as it is incorrect. By setting a material status you can restrict the usage, but not delete at plant level.

Hi,

1. MM06 is to mark the material for deletion (deletion flag), the material can be flagged at different organisational levels /MM17 can be used if you want to do it in mass/

2. You can archive the material, please check these links:

HI,

Materials cannot be deleted from the Master data. Instead It is advisable to flag it for deletion in MM06.

U can permanently delete the material from MMDE from the client but which is not advisable.

Hope this helps,
