Qualifed update is deleting exising records

Hello,

We recently installed MDM 5.5 SP06 Patch03 Release (Note 1234675) and now I cannot use Import Manager to update fields on a Qualified records. The was working perfect prior to this patch.

Issue:

Qualified table is Partner Functions

Non Qualifiers = Sales Org, Distribution Channel, Division, Partner Function

Qualifiers = Ref Customer, Primary, Suffix, Update By, Update Date

Existing qualifier records

Sales Org, Distribution Channel, Division, Partner Function, Ref Customer, Primary, Suffix, Update By, Update Date

Marine,Standard, Outboard, Bill To, 50429, null, 002, userid, 10/25/2008

Marine,Standard, Outboard, Bill To, 55460, null, 003, userid, 10/25/2008

Import record

Sales Org, Distribution Channel, Division, Partner Function, Ref Customer, Primary, Suffix, Update By, Update Date

Marine,Standard, Outboard, Bill To, 55460, TRUE, 001

Partner Function Qualified table: Set Qualified Update = Update

Matching Qualifiers = Ref Customer

New links = Skip

Existing links = Update (All mapped qualifiers)

Import map maps all the fields noted above.

Import action = Update (All mapped fields)

When I import this one record, the two existing records are deleted and the new record is not added.

Before the patch, the import would have updated the second existing record because the Ref Customer matches the Ref Customer of the import record. It would change the Primary field from null value to TRUE and change the Suffix field from 003 to 001.

I have not change the standard Config Setting in Import Manager.

Any help is greatly appreciated as updating Qualified tables is a huge requirement for us.

Thanks

Tammi

please try File->Save update on the existing import map.

If possible please re create the import map.

This happens often across patches. atleast happened in our case.

The import maps might get corrupted.

let us know if it helped.

Hi Tammis,

In which MDM version did you first create the Import maps?and how have you transported your repository to the newer MDM version?

- If you are facing this problem after the upgradation, then it could be possible that the import maps have got corrupted ,as when you use some of the method like Import/Export schema to transport the repository structure, you often have issues with the maps.

- As MDM uses different internal ids to recognize the maps which gets lost in Export/import schema.

- So your maps do not work correctly.

- Try verifying and repairing your repository for any errors.

- Load it with update indices.

- Then open you map recheck all the mappings.Deselect and then reselect the matching field and the import actions correctly to reset the settings.

- Check if nay value or field mapping is missing.

- Then save the map using Save Update.

Hope It Helped

Hi Tammi,

Even if your Qualified table configurations are wrong, the Importing should not allow to delete the existing records.Either it will skip the new records while importing or update or replace if the matching field is matching with an existing rec.Deletion of the rec is not part of importing and clearly looks like a bug.

You can opt to upgrade to the latest hotfix of the current version you are using, usually SAP corrects such errors in their latest hotfixes which will not require you to go for an entire new version of the software.

Uptill now no one as come across this behavior with this patch.Kindly contact SAP for futher guidance.

Hope It Helped
