I expect this has something to do with the version of java that i'm using but i'm wondering if anyone else has seen this behavior. sap gui version 6.30 rev 4 for linux. I'm using jdk1-4.2.10. Exception is thrown when the new connection button is pushed. Thanks

hi,
to solve this problem you need to install the version: j2re1.4.2_13
so:
1º uninstall all java at your machine
2º download the j2re1.4.2_13
3º just at linux, my case , must create a link for mozilla firefox:
at /usr/lib/firefox/plugins create a link to /usr/local/j2re1.4.2_13/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so
note: change /usr/local to if your installation directory is different.
4º run and have fun
pd: be sure you have "run javascript" sticked at Edit> Preferences> Content
pd2: my firefox version is: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0 (Ubuntu-edgy)

Hello,
you might want to switch to SAP GUI for Java 6.40 rev 6, which is the latest one and available at http://service.sap.com/sapgui-java
SAP GUI for Java 6.30 is not supported anymore since middle of last year.
In case the problem persists with the new version of SAP GUI for Java, please let me know.
Best regards
Rolf-Martin

hi,
don't use jdk1.4.2_10... it doesn't work properly.... i've had the same problem.... then removed jdk1.4.2_10 and tried installing with the version 1.4.2_08 and it went through without any problems...
am sure this will work... check it out and lemme know....
Regards
Manicks
