ERP 6.0 (MM) intergration with R3 4.6C (MM)

Management has asked us to investigate a new SAP ECC 6.0 system running MM. They would like to know if there are ways to interface the new system to our current R3 4.6C system running MM & FI.

They do not want to upgrade yet, ( business choice). Our new company would use the ECC 6.0 system and want to interfaces with MM and FI on the old system.

Anybody doing this? Any gotcha`s to look out for. We would be running on a ABAP only stack.

Between SAP to SAP you can integrate using RFC.

Possible but more painful.

As you need to do rest of the configuration on new system which is more painful then a upgrade.

so ask management to wait until they make up their mind for full upgrade
