query on patch levels

think of a situation that i am using sap 4.7e in my company and friend in other company also uses 4.7e version . the patch level or the updates released through SAP will be same for both places or different. and does the patch level is same for all the versions through out ? for example ECC 5.0, AND netweaver

Ashish,

Log into your System.

Goto SYSTEM tab.

Then goto STATUS.

A window pops up.

Look out for SAP SYSTEM DATA column.

There should be a field COMPONENT VERSION .

Under the field there should be a small button which shows a magnifying glass. CLICK on it.

It shows all the patches or support pack levels of the system components for YOUR system.

Hi ashish,

What patch level you are refering to.From SAP side the patches will be released and will be available in the service marketplace for down load.But if you are taking about the patch level of your system and your friends then they may vary according to the fact that if you have applied one patch and your friend has not.For exmple there is sap basis patch released by sap and you have applied it but your friend is still not applied then the basis patch level will be different.

The question is very difficult to understand.

Every single SAP system is independent of any other, so patch level could be very different between two systems of the same version and even more different/not related between systems on different version.

SAP releases software for worldwide not for company based. you go anywhere the process for SAP applications will be same (kernel upgrade, patches etc..) mean same patch release for 4.7 worldwide, only difference will be you may have different patch level then others.

patch level differs on different applications (netweaver, ECC, SRM etc)
