spacar error says format error in header

Hello ,

I was executing the command sapcar -xvf K-1507DINSTPL.SAR I get an error saying there is a format error in header.

What do I do.

Download SAPCAR 700 or the latest SAPCAR 640 patch from marketplace. Detail path you can find in the note

Thank you for the help and suggestions.

I just had a look at the thread after solving the problem.

Actually I had the solution in the PDF that I was suggested to read when I updated SPAM from 700/0023 to 700/0030.

Debasis I came across the same thing which is as follows

"SAPCAR error: format error in header" when extracting

an SAR archive

Symptom: When you unpack an SAR archive, the SAPCAR utility

terminates with the error message "SAPCAR error: format error in

header".

Reason: The SAR archive was packed using SAPCAR Version 700. Since

changes were made to the SAR archive format in this version, older

SAPCAR versions can no longer unpack the archive (also refer to SAP

Note 892842).

Solution: Use SAPCAR Version 700 or SAPCAR Version 640 patch level

4. These versions can process the new archive format (refer to SAP

Note 892842).
