sap 4.6c installation sapdb 7.2.5 win error

Hello all.

I have installed one sap 4.6c installation sapdb 7.2.5 win.

When I try to install another one such system on the same server

I get such error:

P.S. This situation is appered only with this versions of database and R/3 (sapdb 7.6 and R/3 4.7 - all is ok)

Hello Elena,

SAP DB version 7.2.5 is out of maintenance for quite a long time already. I would try to use newer installation CDs with version 7.5 or even higher.

Dear Melanie.

Release 4.6C doesn't support version 7.5 or even higher.

The highest supported version is SAP DB 7.3

Hello Elena,

where did you get that information?

If you look into PAM you can see that MaxDB version 7.6 is supported for 4.6C - with the SAP KERNEL 4.6D_EX2.

And in the download section for 4.6C installation CDs you can find a CD with MaxDB version 7.5. So I'd recommend to read the installation documentation again and check out what can be installed.

BTW: End of mainstream maintenance for 4.6C was 31.12.2006. Why do you install that version at all?

This is information from PAM for SAP KERNEL 4.6D too.

I don't have CDROM with KERNEL 4.6D_EX2 and MaxDB version 7.5.

And I can't download them from Marketplace because mainstream maintenance for SAP R/3 4.6C was ended.

I need the system 4.6C because some of our client use this old version.

I recommend to open a message on component

XX-SER-SWFL-ESD (SAP electronical software shipment)

or

XX-SER-SWFL-SHIP (SAP software shipment on CD-ROM)

Please do not try to install database version 7.2.5. Ask for the installation CDs/DVDs for 7.5.

One system I have installed, it works without any problems...

Hi Elena,

because 7.2.5 is out of maintenance.

If you want to go ahead with that installation, SAP support (and that includes me) can't help you.
