Impacts on Storage location in sales order

Dear Friends,

Can any bady let me know , if we maintain the storage location in sales order item level what will be the impacts on availablity check, and if not maintained what will be the impacts.

Please give clear picture on the same.

as i know if we maintain the sto location availablity is carried our in storage location level, if not availability is carried out in plant level.

if it is true where to see and how to see this in the system

Hi Raju

If you have maintained a Storage location in the Sales order, then it will be copied to the Delivery document otherwise storage location will be determined during delivery through some rule (MALA,RETA,MARE) which is specified in the Delivery type.

If the item relevant for picking , then storage location has to be determined.

So either you specify it in the Sales order or it will be determined by the system automatically during delivey through these rules.

As far as Availability check is concerned you are right.
