ftp problem

Hi

My XI box is on HP-Unix system with a different hostname. I have installed a FTP server in my personal laptop. I have a scenario like file-xi-proxy.

When I configure the ftp details in file communicaiton details, XI is not able to identify the ftp server that is installed on my laptop. I am working

within my company network. This to work what should I normally do ?? Is there anything like port that I should open ??

test the connection from your command promt..

cmd:> ftp <ip address>

try connecting anonymous or create a new user. Which ftp server did u install?

Hi

I am using CrobFTPServer and I am able to log-into the ftp server with the user that I have created and am able to see all the files from command prompt. But XI is not able to detect the ftp server. Is it like that since XI is on unix system and ftp server is on my windows laptop ?? or is there any port that I should use ??
