PDF attachment fails to decode in Outlook 2007

Forum,

Attempting to use the pdf action blocks in 11.5 to create a pdf and save the same to the MII server for use as a attachment in Outlook 2007. The process works fine but when I open the pdf through Outlook I get a error message indicating that the pdf was not properly decoded.

The pdf works fine outside Outlook 2007 using Adobe 7.0.5. It appears that the current action blocks are not compatable with Outlook 2007.

Is there another method to get the output of a Illum Doc (in table format) into either the body of a email or as a attachment?

Regards

Roger, are you setting the "mime type" of the e-mail attachment to application/pdf? If not, try that...

Hi Roger,

I am not sure why Outlook 2007 would be opening a pdf instead of Acrobat Reader. But here are a couple of options:

  • You can use an xslt to generate html content for the email body.

  • I would also guess, but without a bit of testing, can't confirm, that you should be able to create it in CSV format using the stock MII xsl's.

Probably have to play around with either one to make it work.

Good luck,

Mike
