hi
why we create sales area in SD process.
Hello,
A Sales area is a combination of Sales organisation, distribution channel and division.
Sales documents, delivery documents and billing documents are always assigned to sales area. Every sales process always takes in a specific sales area.
You may maintain sales relevent master datas on sales area.
You can carryout different kind of analysis with in a sales area like sales volume ..etc.

Hi Mukesh,
In normal view in the sales also sales area is important for the business.
In SAP SD you can assign saleas area then only u can rise the sales orders,as well as if u rise the sales order u can maintain the pricing .
If u give pricing for the product u can assing the pricing procedure to sales area only
Thats reason SALES AREA is a vital role in sales & distribution

Hi,
Setting up of Sales area is one of the basic and impaortant step in creating Enterprise structure of any organization from SD perspective.
This has to be done carefully and understanding the busioness requirement of the organization.
Behaviour of each and every transaction and posting to relevant accounts will depend on how you have set up the sales area.

Hi Mukesh,
It is a SAP designed organization structure in SD module, to map the SAP software with the real life business requirements in sales.
It helps in creating transactions in specific areas of the business and pulling out reports based on these specific areas, such as, Sales org, Dist Ch, Division etc or a combination thereof and also to control various processes such as Pricing, Master data such as Customer, material etc.
I hope this info helps you to understand this structure better.

Hi,
Sales area means the combination of Sales Organisation,Division and distribution Channel.
Based on this Sales Area we can trigger the pricing procedure.
Based on the sales area we can decide which all order types need to be used. So we have that control.
Based on sales area we can trigger business area.
Based on sales area we trigger the standard reports like MCtA etc.

Hi there,
Sales area : Sales org / Distribution Channel / Division.
You define that coz yoiur customer masteris extended to the sales area. That is different sales area can have different values of customer master.
Like wise you assign the pricing procedure to sales area (along with cust pricing proc & doc pric procedure).
You log an order with respect to a sales area. For that the material master shoiuld be extended for the sales org / dist channel combination.
These are a few examples why you need to define sales areas.
In short all sales activities are carried out with respect to a sales area.

Hi,
All Sales transactions in SAP happen for a particular Sales Area, it will help you to track the sales in that particular sales area.
Example:Sales Org: Domestic,Dist.Channel:Direct and Division: X Product and the combination of these three is the SALES AREA.
And when you want to sell this X product , you create a Sales Order (in the entry screen of VA01) the sales area is entered. So this entire sales process happens for this sales area and will help the management in having a track as to how much they have sold in this sales area.
