Has anyone come across the problem of trying to pull up a Access 2007 database, and Crystal not recognizing the extension. I am having a real problem and have to convert the access database to Excel before I run my report as Crystal does not recognize the accdb extension when I select Access.
I don't know if this has been resolved...but...
While using an ODBC connection will work, you can also connect to an Access 2007 database from Crystal Reports XI by selecting OLE DB(ADO), instead of Access/Excel (DAO). Select "Microsoft Office 12.0 Access Database Engine OLE DB Provider" as the Provider.

Hi Yasmin,
Have you tried creating an ODBC connection to your Access Database and try creating a report of the ODBC connection.
Hope this helps.

Hi Yasmin,
Thanks for your reply, please follow the below steps to create a ODBC data source for your access database
1) Goto > Control panel > Administrative Tools > Data
Sources (ODBC).
2) Select System DSN.
3) Click on Add > Select Access Driver.
4) Enter The Data Source Name > Ex: Test.
5) Click on Select Button and browse the access
database.
6) After Selecting the Database Click on OK button.
7) Open the crystal reports > New > Standard Report>
Create New Connection > ODBC > Select the ODBC
which was create Ex: Test.
😎 Select the tables which you want to add it to the report.
Hope this helps!!

Vinay
Hi Yasmin
Please let us know the following information to further troubleshoot the issue:
1) Exact version of crystal Reports. To get this information go to Help > About Crystal Reports.
2) Do you face the same issue after creating a Data Source Name and using ODBC or OLEDB connection?
Thanks
