Hello,
We have a Novell eDirectory connected to the Portal and R/3. We can define a search depth on R/3 without any problem but we cannot find where we can define this in the Portal. We want to limit/define a user search to a base level. In R/3 , this is defined as "Base entry and all levels below". In the Portal, under tab LDAP server of the UM config we have ou=ACTIVE,ou=USERS,o=AIB but we cannot see an option to define the search depth. Can you tell us what parameter this is defined under Direct Editing?
Without this search depth defined in the Portal, we are getting duplicate users in our Portal. Thanks,
Regards/
Conor
Hi Boris,
We have not found any solution yet. I understand this is possible in NW 7., but not in NW04. If you
have a small number of users that you wish to exclude then the parameter:
ume.ldap.blocked_accounts
in the 'Direct Editing' area of the 'UM Configuration'. For larger numbers this would be very cumbersome.
/regards,
Conor.

Hello Conor,
Thank you for the fast response...
We are currently on NW7 SPS17 and still having this problem.
Apparently there is an OSS note [1124498|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1124498] that provides a solution to this issue, but in our case we are still not able to change the scope to 2.
Best regards,
Boris
Hi Conor,
Have you found any solution yet?
We have the same issue and we are trying to find the place to configure the depth of the scope in the Portal.
Thanks,
Boris

Hello,
Unfortunately, these links do not help as they are not relevant.
We are looking for a property/parameter within the LDAP configuration in the Portal where we can define the search depth like that defined in R/3.
Thanks,
