Hi John,

There is no much difference between SP04 and SP06 except:

1. In SP06 Quark is not supported i.e. you wont find the plug-ins for Quark with the MDM installables.

2. There is no Recycle Bin in Families table to recover the deleted families.

Also there may be few differences in Publisher client which are minute ones

Hi John,

There's a session featuring print publishing novelties with SAP NetWeaver MDM 5.5 SP6 Patch 1 at [https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a04b8c34-6fd2-2a10-76b7-a4a4120883bb] (WebEx Player required), and a session highlighting the

print publishing enhancements with SAP NetWeaver MDM 7.1 at

Hope this helps,

Hi John,

MDM Publisher has several functionalities supported for generating a customized catalog out of which spread holds the final look and feel along with the content which is given to the DTP (Desktop Publishing) tool (Adobe InDesign CS3) for printing.

Rich Product Catalog management is one of the two MDM Business Scenario powered by SAP Netweaver which like the GDS scenario exists in addition to the IT scenario variants MDC, MDH and CMDM.

The focus of PCM is not consolidation or harmonization of master data in a heterogeneous landscape of SAP systems but the administration of a product catalogue including publishing.

1. MDM Publisher, MDM Indexer components required, apart from this few Publishing tools like Quark express and Adobe In Design CS2.

All the documentation available at MDM5.5 Installation & Implementation Documentation Center avalable on the SAP Service Market place http://service.sap.com.

Make sure both Layout server and Publisher components are similar version. Layout server needs to be activated before you start MDM Publisher component, I would say you install layoutserver on the machine where you have installed your Publisher.

You can find some sessions there are a few LiveExpert Sessions at this link: https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700002843092005E. You need to have a Service Marketplace login for this.
