Restore Database From VERITAS Symantec Backup Exec 10d

Hi Gurus,

Now we are to apply Support Package in our System. What are the precautions to be taken regarding Backup?

We are using VERITAS Symantec Backup Exec 10d for Windows Servers 2003 for backup. I want to know the steps how to restore the holly database. Please guide.

my problem is how to restore the backup from VERITAS Symantec Backup Exec 10d to the SAP ECC 5.0.

Actually we are Installing new patches, so if some thing goes wrong, the how i have to restore the system from the backup to go back to the previous stage. So what are the steps for this process of recovery from VERITAS or ORACLE 9i.

will you restore on the exact same server?

Are you using brbackup with the SAP database backup agent for NetBackup (Or whatever they call it).

if, so, all you need to do is to use brrestore:

brrestore -u / -c -b bdyhgqvd.aff -p init%ORACLE_SID%.sap -m full
